Pickles, Tomatoes, and Pig Liver Pate’

It’s what’s for breakfast! Apparently, the Germans like savory (salty and sweet combination) for breakfast—lots of cheese, jams and jellies, and cold cuts. Breakfast also includes plenty of fruit, breads, nuts, grains, cereals, and yogurt. Good and filling!

Incidentally, we get “pig liver pate’” in the States under the name “Braunschweiger.” Also, I’m calling it “pig liver pate’” for literary effect; they don’t call it that.
