Arrived in Munich around 12:30 PM.  Hotel was about two blocks from train station–a welcomed relief.

We checked in and then hopped another train for a 30 minute trip to Dachau to visit the concentration camp memorial.  The weather was rainy and dreary and somehow seemed  to fit the occasion.  Hard to believe the inhumanity that is possible.

On a lighter note, we are thoroughly enjoying Starbucks and their free wi-fi on this trip.  Starbucks has become our daily rest stop and is where I check emails and write this blog.

We still need to figure out some things to do in Munich in addition to some of my sabbatical places.  Shouldn’t be  problem as there is a lot to this city (though we have yet to explore much more than the train station and our hotel).
